Reducing abrasive consumption will reduce required waste disposal, thereby lowering environmental impact. Ervin product provided an optimised operating mix – thanks to its adherence to 3rd party international specifications and its improved life. Their technical support worked in partnership with CIE production and maintenance staff to reduce the level of abrasive discards by adjusting the setup of their blasting machine. All this testing was done against competitor abrasive in a CIE plant in Spain, as part of normal production without interrupting supply.

Following a closely monitored and well-documented testing period, it was shown that Ervin product blasted an additional 24% of work pieces per kg of abrasive. Due to this significant decrease in abrasive consumption and therefore waste, and the level of technical support supplied to CIE, the plant has moved 100% to Ervin abrasive following the test.
